Forest Manor Multi-Service Center (FMMSC), a community based social service organization, located on the near eastside of Indianapolis, was founded in 1973 by a group of concerned residents. Originally sponsored and operated by the City of Indianapolis, the Center became a non-for-profit organization in 1977 and began outreach programs to youth and adults in 1980, joining Community Centers of Indianapolis in 1983. Our mission is to empower the lives of our neighbors by offering individuals and families the services and supports they need to become self-sufficient. Approximately 90% of the clients are single women with an average of two children. The average per capita income in the FMMSC service area is $16,318, 75% of our catchments area is African American, with 24.6% of the families living below the poverty line.
