Teenage Access to Skills and Knowledge (T.A.S.K.)
TASK is an exciting interactive program that helps teens ages 13 and older to recognize their full potential as productive citizens. Teens are provided with academic, social, and recreational activities. Programming includescareer development and mentoring program that provides youth with recreational, educational, and social skill building opportunities. The goal of this program to provide the young people with the necessary tools needed to successfully graduate from high school and go on to college so that they can achieve a choice career. This program focuses on cultural awareness, civic and social responsibility, self-empowerment, and other skill sets related to education and careers. Current, hours are Monday through Friday from 6pm until 8pm. (Please note that the hours are subject to change.)
Not In Our Hood
Not in our Hood focuses on ensuring that the youth understand each problem solving component and are able to incorporate them into their everyday activities. Through intervention problem solving the program is designed to address gun violence, escalating number of juvenile homicides, community activism and pride, life skills college preparation, and employable skills for teens in the northeast community. This program will link over 300 teens with the resources, information, and knowledge that will set them on a path toward making their lives and community a safer and highly regarded place to live.
Youth interact with various community organizations, IMPD, Coalition of Northeast Neighborhoods (CNN), Project Safe Neighborhoods, the City of Indianapolis, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, and churches with projects that include community service, workshops, conferences, & neighborhood rallies. At each opportunity for interaction youth will learn ways to make their community safer for socializing, living, and nurturing.
Sisters Becoming Soul Sistas
Sisters Becoming Soul Sistas is a career development and mentoring program. The goal of this program to provide the young ladies with the necessary tools needed to successfully graduate from high school and go on to college so that they can achieve a career of their choice. This program focuses on cultural awareness, self-empowerment, and other skill sets related to education and careers.
Special events yearly:
►Spring Break College tour- this event consists of a one
state college visit and other educational activities.
►Community Brunch
►Year End Bridging Ceremony- this event is an awards
ceremony. During this event the girls will pass on to the
next level of Soul Sisters. They will reaffirm their pledge
as Soul Sisters.

Program Specific
The Youth Employment Program provides employment and
training services that assist in addressing the educational,
job readiness and career exploration goals of youth. Program
helps young people, ages 14 to 25, with:
►Basic skills training, including remedial education, and
literacy training
►Tutoring, mentoring and other services so you can complete
high school. We help students
stay in schools, including alternative schools, and we help
those who have dropped
out get their GED.
►Summer employment that is linked to academic or
occupational learning
►Internships in the private sector
►Job placement
►Services to smooth the way from school to work, higher
education or apprenticeship
►Job-readiness training.
Teen Summer Exploration
This ten (10) week camp is specifically focuses on providing teenagers, ages 13-16, with access to college tours, career preparation programming, and college awareness and readiness curricula. Programming is designed to expose them to information and knowledge on opportunities for college and career involvement beyond high school and increases youths' awareness and concern for the community.
